Argentina — Golden Visa & Citizenship by Investment

Not eligible

What you are describing does not exist in Argentina today, and we would rather be blunt about that than sell you the nearest thing.

Argentina did legislate for it. A 2025 decree created a citizenship-by-investment programme, with an agency inside the Ministry of Economy to run it, under which a "relevant investment" would qualify someone for citizenship regardless of how long they had lived there. It never opened. No investment amount was ever defined — the figure that circulated came from a government spokesman rather than any published rule. The international tender to design and run the programme was suspended in April 2026 after losing bidders challenged the result. And in June 2026 a court annulled the decree that created the whole thing.

So there is no application to make, no amount to invest, and no body accepting files. Anyone currently offering you an Argentine passport for an investment is selling something they cannot deliver.

What Argentina does have is an investor *residency* route — capital into a real business, residency for a year at a time, and then citizenship after two years of actually living there. That is a genuine route and a fast one by international standards, but it requires you to move.

If not living there is the point, then Argentina is the wrong country for now and several others do offer what you are describing.

Tell us whether relocating for a couple of years is possible for you. That single answer decides whether we look at Argentina again or somewhere else entirely.
