Argentina — Naturalization

Possible

The route is open to you, but there is a step before the step you asked about.

Argentine citizenship by naturalisation needs two years of continuous legal residence on a temporary or permanent permit. So the first question is not the citizenship application — it is which residency category you can get, because without one the two years cannot start.

The realistic categories are employment with an Argentine employer, which needs the employer; investment in a productive, commercial or service activity, which needs capital and provable lawful origin of the funds; passive income or a pension, which needs documented regular income from abroad; or family, if you have a spouse, child or parent who is Argentine. The digital nomad permit is not one of them — it is transitory and accrues nothing.

Two years is a genuinely short qualifying period, so this route is worth taking seriously if living in Argentina appeals. It just is not a route you can start from your sofa.

Tell us what you do for a living, whether you have income from outside Argentina, and whether you have family there — that is usually enough for us to say which category fits.
