Retirement in Argentina

Remote work income does not qualify, because both categories exclude wages wherever the employer is. Look at Argentina's digital nomad permit, which is built for remote workers.

Pensionado needs a pension and rentista needs income from assets abroad. Employment and freelance earnings are excluded, and working while holding this permit puts its renewal at risk.

The digital nomad permit lets you live in Argentina and work remotely for up to 180 days, renewable once. It does not count toward the two years of residence that citizenship needs.

If you want to settle, a job with an Argentine employer or an investment in a business are residence categories that count.
