The first is your nationality. If you hold the nationality of Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana or Surinam, Argentina gives you residency on that alone — no employer, no points, no salary threshold — and everything else in this quiz becomes irrelevant. That is worth checking before anything else, because a surprising number of people entitled to it go looking for work visas instead.
The second is whether you have an Argentine employer. If you do, the work permit route applies and much of the paperwork is theirs. If you do not, the work permit is not available, because Argentina has no self-sponsored or open work visa — but investment, documented income from abroad, and family routes all exist.
What Argentina does not have, and this is the thing most worth knowing, is any route that assesses your skills and qualifications on their own merits.
