Resumption is closed to you, because you never held Australian citizenship yourself. Find the date your parent's citizenship ended: if it was after your birth, you may have a claim by descent.
Descent asks whether a parent was an Australian citizen on the day you were born. If your parent lost it later, that does not undo your claim. If they had already lost it, descent does not reach you.
Your parent may be able to resume their own citizenship if they lost it automatically before 4 April 2002. That will not reach back to help your claim, but it matters for them and for the rest of the family.
