Did the Brazilian in your line ever formally give up Brazilian nationality before you were born?
Until October 2023 a Brazilian could lose nationality by naturalising abroad — but only where the Ministry of Justice published a formal declaration of loss in the official gazette. Taking another passport never did it on its own, and a constitutional amendment has since removed that ground entirely.
