The age limits on these agreements are hard ones: 30 in most of them, 34 under the South Korean agreement. There is no discretion to exceed them and no equivalent route for older applicants, so this one is closed.
It closes narrowly, though. Working holiday schemes are the most age-restricted routes any country runs, and every other Brazilian route is indifferent to age.
If the appeal was spending time in Brazil while working, the remote work route is the direct replacement and in most respects a better one: residence on proof of US$1,500 a month from an employer or clients outside Brazil, or US$18,000 in savings. It runs a year and is renewable, where a working holiday is single-use and not extendable.
Beyond that: a job offer from a Brazilian employer, investment from R$150,000 in an innovation or research business, a pension paid from abroad at US$2,000 a month, a Brazilian spouse or partner, or — for nationals of most South American countries — a residence agreement with no threshold at all.
And one that overrides all of them if it applies: if a parent, grandparent or earlier ancestor was Brazilian, citizenship by descent has no generational limit and no age limit either.
