Working Holiday Visa in Costa Rica

Costa Rica's working holiday is open only to Canadian citizens, so it is not open to you. If you earn from abroad, look at the digital nomad stay; to work for a Costa Rican employer, look at skilled migration.

Costa Rica has one youth-mobility arrangement, with Canada. There is no Australian, British, EU, Japanese or Korean scheme, whatever comparison sites suggest.

Costa Rica is also a partner country in International Experience Canada, but that is Costa Ricans going to Canada. It does nothing for anyone coming the other way.

The digital nomad stay under Ley 10008 needs USD 3,000 a month from an employer or clients outside Costa Rica and lasts a year, extendable by one more. A job with a Costa Rican employer needs an employer-led residence category under Article 79 of the migration law and starts with an offer.
