The Verdict: Not eligible
Czech naturalisation needs years of permanent residence in Czechia, so it is closed to you while you live abroad. If a parent or grandparent was Czech or Czechoslovak, look at Citizenship by Descent, which needs no residence.
The act asks for permanent residence held for five uninterrupted years on the day you apply, and for you to have been physically present for at least half of it. There is no remote, investment or ancestry-plus-money version.
Two faster routes need no residence at all. If someone in your direct line held Czech or Czechoslovak citizenship, our Citizenship by Descent quiz covers it. If you once held it yourself, our Reacquiring Lost Citizenship quiz does.
If you are thinking of moving, the order is a residence permit for work, business or the digital nomad programme, then permanent residence after five years, then citizenship after five more. Our Skilled Migration and Digital Nomad quizzes cover the first step.
