Marriage in Egypt

Engagement or a relationship gives no route to Egyptian nationality or residence. The route opens only on marriage, and only for a wife; until then our golden visa and skilled migration quizzes cover other ways to live in Egypt.

Article 7 of the Egyptian Nationality Law lets a foreign woman married to an Egyptian man declare for nationality and become Egyptian two years later. A foreign husband has no equivalent route.

The marriage has to be registered with the Egyptian authorities to count, so plan for that once you marry.
