The Verdict: Unlikely
There is no clear route back after renouncing Egyptian nationality as an adult. The realistic path is naturalisation as a person of Egyptian origin, which our naturalisation quiz covers.
Article 2 of the Egyptian Nationality Law lets a person born with two nationalities declare that they give up the Egyptian one. Article 18, which lists whom the Interior Minister may restore, does not name that case, so a request would rest on a discretion the law does not clearly give.
Article 4 lets the Minister naturalise someone of Egyptian origin after five years living in Egypt, rather than the usual ten.
Your children born before you renounced were Egyptian at birth and remain so. Our descent quiz covers them.
