The Verdict: Need More Info
Your route is the entrepreneur card, and it turns on your business being judged viable and paying you at least the minimum wage. Ask for the viability opinion before you apply.
The entrepreneur and liberal profession card is for the self-employed and small business owners. Viable in practice means income of at least the minimum wage, currently €1,867.02 gross a month.
Since June 2025 the viability opinion has to be requested in advance, from the foreign labour service for your département. The business must be registered in France, and a regulated profession needs its French authorisation.
The card lasts one year. Moving to a multi-year card needs French at A2 and the civic exam.
The talent cards are stronger. If the project could reach €30,000 of funding with a master's or five years' experience, or win recognition from a French incubator, look at those first.
