Do you have clear ties with France, or have you served in French or allied forces?
Article 21-14 of the Civil Code lets people cut off by the 50-year rule claim nationality by declaration at a consulate. It needs either clear cultural, professional, economic or family ties with France, or service in a French army unit, or in French or allied forces in wartime.
