Working Holiday Visa in Germany

The Verdict: Clear Path

You can take a working holiday in Germany. Apply for the visa before you travel, at any German mission abroad.

Processing times vary a great deal between missions and the visa must be in hand before you fly, so check the wait at the mission you plan to use.

Expect to show funds to support yourself at the start, health insurance covering the whole stay, and a return ticket or the money to buy one.

The permit lasts up to twelve months and lets you work. It does not convert into a skilled worker permit, and time on it does not count towards the five years needed for naturalisation.
