Second Pass

Working Holiday Visa in Germany

The Verdict: Need More Info

You can apply from your 18th birthday if you hold a passport from a participating country. There is nothing to register in advance, so come back then.

The programmes cover Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan and Uruguay, with a separate agreement for Canada.

The upper age limit is 30, or 34 for Korean passport holders, so from 18 you have years to choose your moment. School exchanges sit outside these rules if you want to be in Germany sooner.
