Exceptional Talent in Greece

The Verdict: Clear Path

The specialised technical personnel permit is built for your assignment. Ask your employer and the Greek company to confirm the project and their service agreement meet the rules, then apply.

Law 5275/2026 created it for staff of a non-EU company sent to a Greek company on a project of at least €10 million, in sectors such as industry, technology and pharmaceuticals. It runs on a service agreement between the two companies, with no shared ownership needed, and lasts as long as the contract, up to twelve months.

The conditions sit with the companies: the project size, the service agreement, and whether your role is specialised technical work.

If the assignment may run beyond twelve months, plan ahead. You can convert to an EU Blue Card if you have higher professional qualifications and a salary of at least 1.5 times the Greek average gross annual salary. It now runs three years at a time.

Implementing guidance was pending when the law was first analysed, so ask the consulate what documents they now require.
