The Verdict: Clear Path
As an Australian aged 18 to 30 with a degree, diploma or two years of university, you can get Indonesia's work and holiday visa for one year. Start by asking the Australian Department of Home Affairs for a letter of support.
The letter of support is free and takes about ten working days. With it, apply on the Indonesian e-Visa portal for visa index E35A, which also asks for bank statements showing at least US$2,000 over the last three months, a CV, an itinerary and your education certificate. Some guides say functional Indonesian is expected; it is not on the official checklist.
The stay permit lasts up to a year. You may work once you have reported the work to immigration. It can be used only once, and it does not lead to permanent residence.
