Is your spouse or civil partner an Irish citizen?
A citizen, not simply Irish by background or living in Ireland. An Irish passport, a certificate of naturalisation or a Foreign Birth Registration certificate proves it. Someone born on the island, or with a parent or grandparent born there, may be entitled without having claimed it.
