You need a job offer from an Irish employer before any permit is possible. Target occupations on the Critical Skills list, and check whether descent or a working holiday could get you there first.
Critical Skills roles need no labour market test and qualify at €40,904 with a relevant degree, which makes you quicker to hire, so say so to employers. Check the ineligible list too, since those occupations cannot be permitted at any salary.
Other roles need €36,605 for a General Employment Permit and usually an advertising period first. Permit applications must be in at least twelve weeks before the start date.
