Italy asks a different question of couples living in Italy and couples living abroad, and the terms are different too. For the Italian route what counts is legal residence — your iscrizione anagrafica with the comune — not simply being in the country.
In Italy, registered with my comune, for two years or more since the wedding → In Italy, registered with my comune, but for less than two years → In Italy, but I have never registered as resident with the comune → Outside Italy → I'm in Italy, but I'm not sure whether my registration counts →
