Residence on economic solvency is for people who receive no pay in Mexico. Working for Mexican employers or clients on it is unauthorised work, and it puts the renewal and every later step at risk.

Mexico's work route has no salary threshold, occupation list or labour market test. The one gate is that the employer must be registered with the immigration institute (INM) before it can request a residence for you.
