Digital Nomad in Mexico

Pay from Mexico rules out the remote-worker residence, so this turns on whether all your earnings can come from abroad while you live there. If they cannot, you need a work-authorised residence instead.

Residence on economic solvency is for people who receive no pay in Mexico. Foreign income fits it; income from Mexican employers or clients does not, and we know of no rule that disregards a small Mexican share.

If you can invoice only foreign clients for the period, apply on economic solvency at the Mexican consulate for your country. If the Mexican work is real and growing, you need a registered Mexican employer, or the investor route's business-activity basis, which has no minimum amount.

Settle this before you apply. Renewal, permanent residence at four years and nationality later are all assessed on your immigration record.
