Is your partner a New Zealand citizen or resident?
Your partner must be one or the other to support you. A resident visa counts; a permanent resident visa is not needed. A work, student or visitor visa does not count. Their passport or latest visa label settles it, and anyone born in New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Niue or Tokelau before 2006 is a citizen. If the relationship has ended, answer for when you were together.
