Skilled Migration in New Zealand

The Verdict: Not eligible

New Zealand's skilled residence routes close at 55, so they are not open to you. Look at investment or the partner route for residence, or the Accredited Employer Work Visa if working there for a period is enough.

The Skilled Migrant Category and the Green List routes require applicants to be 55 or younger, with no discretion.

The Accredited Employer Work Visa has no age limit. With an offer from an accredited employer and an approved job check, you can work for up to five years, or three for lower-skilled roles, but it will not lead to skilled residence for you.

Active Investor Plus has no age limit and starts at NZ$5 million. A partner who is a New Zealand citizen or resident needs twelve months of living together. If a parent was born in New Zealand, take the descent quiz, where age does not matter.
