Who do you work for?
Spain — Digital Nomad
This route is defined by who pays you, not by what you do. It is for people working remotely for companies based outside Spain. If you are employed, the employer must be outside Spain — there is no flexibility on that. If you work for your own clients, you may bill Spanish companies, but only up to a fifth of your total professional activity.
A company based outside Spain, as an employee → My own clients as a freelance — all or almost all of them outside Spain → My own clients, but more than a fifth of my work is for Spanish companies → A company based in Spain → I don't have remote work arranged yet →
