Digital Nomad in Thailand

The Destination Thailand Visa's Soft Power stream fits, and it turns on whether your gym, school or clinic is a recognised provider. Confirm that with the Thai mission before you pay a deposit.

The stream covers Muay Thai, Thai cooking, medical treatment and similar. Non-qualifying providers are a common reason for refusal, and a provider has an interest in saying yes, so ask the mission.

You also need THB 500,000 in your account, held three months at most missions, and written enrolment or treatment documents with dates.

The DTV gives five years of multiple entry. Each entry allows 180 days, extendable once in Thailand by another 180 days. The fee is THB 10,000, and THB 1,900 for the extension. Since 31 August 2026 you must apply at the Thai mission for your own country of nationality or residence, so older advice about picking a consulate no longer applies.

It gives no right to work, does not count towards permanent residence and does not lead to nationality.
