Your claim is real, and it rests on a point Argentina has not settled clearly.
The option route is written for the children of Argentines who were born in Argentina. Your parent is Argentine, but acquired it the same way you would - by option, having been born abroad. Whether that makes them a native Argentine for the purpose of passing it on to you is genuinely unsettled. The statute has them opting for nationality "of origin", which reads as native; consulates in practice have been stricter; and the official guidance does not address the question at all.
We are not going to guess which way it will be read, because it appears to differ between consulates and the cost of being wrong is a rejected file.
Two things would settle it for your case: exactly how your parent's Argentine nationality is recorded in their documents, and the current practice of the consulate with jurisdiction over where you live. If that route is closed to you, the fallback is residence - two continuous years in Argentina - and it is much better to know that at the start than halfway through.
