Skilled Migration in Canada

Skilled work in Canada is the strongest start, through the Canadian Experience Class. Book an approved language test, then create your Express Entry profile.

The class needs one year of skilled work in Canada in the last three years, and language at CLB 7 for TEER 0 and 1 jobs or CLB 5 for TEER 2 and 3 jobs. There is no education requirement and no proof of funds.

You join the Express Entry pool and are ranked on age, education, language and experience. Some rounds are open to everyone and some only to categories such as French or healthcare.

Get reference letters from your Canadian employers setting out duties, hours and dates against your occupation code. If you are in Canada, keep your work permit valid throughout. Once you are in the pool, a better language result is usually the fastest way to raise your score.
