Not as things stand. Portuguese naturalisation is a residence route, and there is no version of it that can be completed from abroad.
The clock is seven years of legal residence for nationals of Portuguese-speaking countries and of EU member states, and ten for everyone else. It runs from the day you hold a title, not from the day you arrive or apply.
What would start it is broader than most people expect. A remote-work permit for someone employed or self-employed for clients outside Portugal; the own-income route for someone living on a pension, rent or investment income; a job offer; a place at a Portuguese university — a student permit counts here, which is unusual in Europe; an investment permit; or family reunification. Any of those puts you on the same clock.
Before you plan around a ten-year timeline, check the two routes that do not need residence at all. If a parent or grandparent was Portuguese, descent may reach you where you are. If you have been married to a Portuguese citizen for three years, that is a declaration you can make at a consulate without ever living in Portugal. Both are faster than residence for the people they fit.
