Portugal — Naturalization
This decides how long the wait is. Portugal cut the period to seven years for nationals of countries where Portuguese is an official language and for EU nationals, and set it at ten for everyone else — both up from five before 19 May 2026. Holding more than one nationality is not a problem: if one of them is on the shorter list, the shorter period applies.
