The honest answer is that almost nobody's are, and it is worth understanding the shape of this route before spending time on it.
The carta de naturaleza has no published criteria, which makes it sound open-ended. In practice it is not. The Council of Ministers grants it in small numbers and the pattern is narrow: elite sportspeople who are to represent Spain internationally, and people deprived of their nationality by their own government or left stateless. Outside those two groups, grants are rare and generally involve a public, documented contribution to Spain backed by a Spanish institution willing to put its name to the request.
The test is not whether your achievements are impressive. It is whether the Spanish government has a reason of its own to act. That is a political question rather than a merits question, and it is why there is no threshold to measure yourself against.
So the useful question is not whether you qualify but whether anything else does better, and something usually does. Residence in Spain leads to citizenship as of right — ten years for most nationalities, two for nationals of Latin American countries, Andorra, Portugal, the Philippines and Equatorial Guinea, one year if you were born in Spain or are married to a Spaniard or had a Spanish parent or grandparent.
