This route is not available to you, and saying so quickly is more useful than leaving it open.
The carta de naturaleza is granted by royal decree at the discretion of the Council of Ministers where exceptional circumstances are present. In practice the grants go overwhelmingly to two groups: elite athletes who are to represent Spain internationally, and people deprived of their nationality or left stateless. It is not a general route, it is not an immigration route — it grants citizenship, not residence — and there is no version of it that responds to wanting to live in Spain, however genuine the wish.
Spain does have good routes, and they are ordinary rather than exceptional. If you work remotely for companies outside Spain, the remote work authorisation is one of Europe's more usable ones. If you can find a Spanish employer, the highly qualified professional route is fast where the role is qualified, and the labour market test disappears for occupations on Spain's quarterly shortage list. If you have means and do not need to work, the non-lucrative visa exists. If you want to start an innovative business, the entrepreneur route is judged on the project rather than on capital.
And it is always worth checking family history before anything else. If a parent or grandparent was Spanish, you may have a nationality claim outright, or at minimum a twelve-month job-search visa reserved for children and grandchildren of Spaniards — which is the only way into Spain that does not need something arranged in advance.
